NAME
licence - how you may reuse LX-128 Surface Retroplot
SYNOPSIS
The code is free software under the Apache 2.0 licence. The creative part, the look of the monitor and of its screens, the texts and the images, is under the Creative Commons BY-NC-SA 4.0 licence: you may reuse and adapt it for non-commercial purposes, crediting the author and keeping the same licence. The plots you make are yours.
TWO LICENCES
The project keeps apart the code that makes the page work and the content you see and read:
- code
- the scripts under js/, the stylesheet style.css and the HTML markup: Apache License 2.0
- content
- the visual design of the monitor and of the three screens, the texts, banners and dialogues shown by the page, the screenshots and the social card under assets/: CC BY-NC-SA 4.0
- fonts
- Press Start 2P and VT323 under fonts/ are not part of this work: they come with their own SIL Open Font License 1.1
- your plots
- the surfaces you draw and the images you save with SAVE come from your own formulas: use them as you like
THE CODE: APACHE 2.0
You may use, study, modify and redistribute the code, including in commercial projects, provided you keep the copyright and licence notices and state any significant changes. The licence includes an express patent grant. The full text is in the LICENSE file, the notices in NOTICE.
THE CONTENT: CC BY-NC-SA 4.0
The initials stand for Attribution, NonCommercial, ShareAlike. The full text is in the LICENSE-CONTENT.txt file and at creativecommons.org.
You may copy and redistribute the content in any format, adapt, remix and build upon it, and use it for personal, educational and study purposes.
You may not use it primarily for commercial advantage, leave out the attribution, release an adapted work under a more restrictive licence, or add terms or technical measures that restrict what the licence allows.
If you change the content, release the result under the same licence (CC BY-NC-SA 4.0) or a compatible one, and say that you made changes.
HOW TO ATTRIBUTE
A good credit names the work, the author, links to the original and to the licence, and mentions any change. For example:
"LX-128 Surface Retroplot" by Alberto Lirussi (https://alirux.github.io/lx-128-surface-retroplot/), licensed under CC BY-NC-SA 4.0 (https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-sa/4.0/). Changes: colours adapted.
NAMES AND OTHER PEOPLE'S WORK
The name "Alberto Lirussi", the names LIRUX, LX-128 and Lirux 3D and the personal logos are not covered by the content licence and remain reserved: you may reuse the material, but not make a modified version look as if it came from, or were endorsed by, the author.
The home computers of the 80s and the film WarGames are affectionate homages. The few lines quoted from the film, its characters and every name they evoke belong to their owners and are not covered by these licences.
NO WARRANTY
The code and the content are offered "as is", without warranty of any kind. The plots are computed with floating point numbers on a coarse grid, with automatic clipping of poles and spikes: they are made to be looked at, not to be relied on for exact values. Within the limits allowed by law, the author is not liable for any damage arising from their use. Consumer rights that cannot be waived under applicable law are unaffected.
OTHER USES
If you need a use these licences do not cover, a commercial use of the content for instance, just ask: write to the address in the privacy notice or through the profiles linked below.
CHANGES
Updates to this page are published here, with a new revision date below. Changing the terms has no retroactive effect on copies already distributed: once granted, the Creative Commons and Apache licences cannot be revoked.
