NAME
privacy - what LIRUX 3D does with your data
SYNOPSIS
No cookies. No accounts. The formulas you type are computed in your browser and never leave it. Visits to the plotter are counted with an anonymous tool that does not identify you, does not follow you from site to site and leaves nothing on your device. Everything else the page needs, fonts included, comes from this site.

WHAT YOU TYPE
Formulas, commands and the names you type at the login: prompt are handled
only by the page, on your device. None of them is sent to a server. The password asked
after login: is not shown, not checked and not kept anywhere: any password
will do.
The last formula is written in the page address, after the # sign, so you can
share a plot by copying the link. Browsers never send that part of the address to the
server.
SAVE creates the PNG image on your device. Nothing is uploaded.
LOCAL STORAGE
The page sets no cookies. It keeps two values in your browser's local storage, to start again on the computer you used last:
- lirux3d.machine
- the last computer used: 128, 64 or the terminal
- lirux3d.home
- the computer the terminal was dialled from, to go back to it on logout
When you leave the plotter for another page of the site, for instance with
man history, it also keeps a copy of your session in the session storage of
the browser tab, so that you find it as you left it on return:
- lirux3d.session
- the text on the screen, the commands you typed, the name you logged in with, the formula and the view; it is read back and deleted as soon as you return, and the browser erases it anyway when you close the tab
None of these values contains an identifier. They stay in your browser, are sent to no one, and you can delete them at any time from your browser settings. They are technical data needed to give you the page the way you left it, so they require no consent.
SERVER LOGS
The site is hosted on GitHub Pages, a service of GitHub, Inc. Like any web server, GitHub's infrastructure automatically records technical data with each request: IP address, browser and operating system, date and time, page requested and referring page. This data serves to deliver the site and keep it secure. The legal basis is the legitimate interest in running a working and safe service (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR).
GitHub Pages does not give the controller access to these logs: the controller never reads, stores or processes them. They remain with GitHub under its own privacy statement.
VISIT STATISTICS
The plotter and its history and maths pages count visits with GoatCounter, a statistics service that uses no cookies and stores nothing on your device. This privacy notice and the licence page do not load it at all.
Each visit records the page opened, the referring page if any, the country derived from
the IP address, the browser, the operating system and the screen width. The controller
only sees aggregated numbers, such as "the plotter was opened 40 times today, 12 from
Italy". The part of the address after #, where your formula is kept, is not
sent.
The IP address and the browser type are not stored. They only serve to tell whether two close page views come from the same person: they stay in transformed form in the service's memory for at most eight hours and never reach any archive. No identifier follows you from one visit to the next, or across sites.
The legal basis is the controller's legitimate interest in knowing whether and how much the page is used (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR). As the measurement neither reads nor stores anything on your device, it does not require the consent needed for cookies and similar technologies. The statistics data stays in the European Economic Area: GoatCounter runs on Hetzner Online GmbH infrastructure in Finland and Germany.

There are no other recipients. No data is sold, given or disclosed to anyone else.
TRANSFERS OUTSIDE THE EU
GitHub, Inc. is based in the United States and may process browsing data outside the European Economic Area. These transfers rely on the safeguards of Chapter V GDPR, namely the standard contractual clauses of the European Commission and the participation of the Microsoft group in the EU-US Data Privacy Framework.
PROFILING
There is no profiling and no automated decision about you.
EXTERNAL LINKS
The page links to GitHub and LinkedIn. Following those links you leave this site and enter services with their own privacy notices, over which the controller has no control.
YOUR RIGHTS
Under Articles 15 to 22 GDPR you can ask for access to your data, its correction or deletion, restriction of processing and portability, and you can object to processing based on legitimate interest. Write to privacy@codingful.com. As the controller keeps no data about you, the answer will often be that there is none.
If you think your data is processed unlawfully, you can lodge a complaint with the Italian data protection authority, the Garante per la protezione dei dati personali (garanteprivacy.it).
RETENTION
The controller keeps no data that identifies you. Visit statistics remain available in aggregated form in the GoatCounter dashboard, and the data that could single out a visit is discarded within eight hours. GitHub decides how long its technical logs are kept, under its own privacy statement.
